Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Oncology
  • Project approved by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare Vide Notification No.289/2006, dated 26.10.2006. Cost Rs.86.68 crore, allowed as deduction under section 35AC.
  • The ‘Centre’ has been granted facilities under section 12A, 80G, 35AC, 10(23C) of Income Tax Act, 1961 and FCRA facility too.

An all - comprehensive Model Hospital cum Research Institute Project.... A really challenging mission of BCRWC to oust Cancer from the society with more sophisticated weapons. An ambitious venture of finally 300 plus bedded all-comprehensive ultra modern Cancer Hospital of international standard, to be the first of its kind in the Eastern & North Eastern Zone of India.

And as the very word NETAJI sparks off indomitable fighting spirit in our mind, we hope, with co-operation and assistance of all Noble Souls, ‘we shall overcome’ all the hurdles on the way to our dream destination. Despite inclement weather we are highly optimistic about the meaningful emergence of a clear blue sky.

Cancer Scenario Today
Despite tremendous stride in the scientific world, the Killer disease Cancer is yet to be tamed. Unusual rise in cruel Cancer deaths is now a global issue. The demon Cancer is still hesitant to honour the internationally reputed oncologists. So there is no pause till today in the premature wastages of precious human lives. This tragic scenario in India, particularly in West Bengal and adjacent areas, is causing mounting worries in the minds of the stalwarts in the medical world.

A Step Forward
The new Cancer hospital project which has been accorded due approval by the Apex Body of India will be a major step forward towards accelerating the speed of Cancer eradication programme specially in the Eastern & North Eastern zone of the country as there is no multi-modality Cancer complex under one roof in the region. The proposed sophisticated hospital will be a safe place for the Cancer patients. After the completion of the hospital the patients from the Eastern and North East Zone will get rid of going far away for receiving the latest treatments from the specialist oncologists.

There will be plenty of accommodations for the Cancer-stricken people below the poverty line. The proposed hospital will serve the common people in a much better way amidst a completely better environment.

Speciality of the Proposed Hospital - a combination of Care, Talent and technology will have all the latest medical facilities available in the leading Cancer hospitals in the world. The surgical instruments will also have a global standard. In general, it will save time and treasure of a vast area and its helpless population thrown into endless trouble ordinarily.

Dept. of Medical Oncology and Clinical Haematology
 
This facility will cater for Medical Management (Chemotherapy & targeted biological & immunological therapy) of Cancer patients with both solid and haematological malignancy including Stem Cell Transplantation facility. This facility will include a modern 60 bedded general ward and 30 bedded Day Care facility and 6 bedded ICU and 4 bedded Stem Cell Transplantation unit for co- ordinating both patients care and clinical research protocols.
 
  Surgical Oncology
     
This facility will cater for surgical treatment of Cancer patients with 50 bedded general ward, ultra-modern operation theatre with facilities for Critical Care Unit with 10 beds. This facility will render organ transplantation and ostomy services.  
 
  Radiation Oncology
 
This facility will cater for surgical treatment of Cancer patients with 50 bedded general ward, ultra-modern operation theatre with facilities for Critical Care Unit with 10 beds. This facility will render organ transplantation and ostomy services.  
     
TomoTherapy - A Revolutionary Concept - A star-like Gift of Ultra-modern Medical Science
TomoTherapy’s new Cancer treatment system is a unique way to deliver radiation treatment for Cancer. It is the latest technology of delivering radiation with precise mechanism through Linear accelerator which moves in unison with multi-leaf collimator. It combines CT imaging and Treatment Planning system. It is a one step forward than conventional RT/ IMRT which takes longer time. This system reduces staff requirement which is a major cost constraint in Radiation Oncology.

Gamma Camera
The Nuclear Medicine facility includes a dual head Gamma Camera which will provide for diagnostic Nuclear Oncology tests - Bone Scan, Organs Scan, DTPA Scan & Pet Scan with cycloton.
Sub-Second Spiral CT Scan
   
Palliative pain Care and Oncoanesthesiology :
This facility will provide comprehensive pain preventive and psycho-social care for terminally suffering Cancer patients.
 
Rehabilitation and occupational support unit :
This facility will cater for occupational and social rehabilitation of Cancer survivors with meaningful quality of life.
 
Gynaecological Oncology:
This facility will provide for surgical diagnostic and therapeutic procedure for patients suffering from Breast Cancer, CA Cervix and allied disorders including psychological ailments with 30 bedded general ward, Multi facilities OT, Critical Care Unit, Intensive Care unit.
